"Little Peanut" is turning into "Little Viking"

Just a quick post to let everyone know that baby is doing well. We had doctor and ultra-sound scheduled for today- and all looks well. Baby was very active and made the ultra-sound technician really work to get the measurements she needed. Still so amazing to get a glimpse of our little peanut before he/she is actually here. Time to go do some shopping since I'm in Anchorage! Let's see- diapers, diapers and more diapers - right?!

20 Weeks

So for most of the pregnancy I've lucked out with not being very sick. Sure I went through some nausea but never threw up until recently. This could have been a touch of the flu, but I tend to think it was baby. I tried to eat meat and well- baby wasn't very happy. For about 5 days I couldn't eat any type of red meat- even the smell of it made me sick. Thankfully I'm doing better now. I was a little worried about this because I struggle with anemia anyways, and so to not be able to eat red meat made me worry that my iron level might get too low. But, everything seems better now, so I'm counting my blessings.
Other news for the past two weeks is that I finally moved into true maternity pants. I'm not quiet big enough to truly fill out the panel part of the pants, but I'm not small enough to wear my other pants comfortably anymore. I will say the maternity pants are more comfortable than I thought they were going to be. We've also ordered the decoration for the crib or nursery- whatever you want to call it. Now, we just need to get a crib!

Let's see what else... feeling the baby move more and more. Oh, we've settled on a boy and girl's name, but plan to keep it a secret until baby is born. The last thing to share is that next Monday I will have my 5 month check up with the doctor in Anchorage. I'm not sure if they plan to do an ultra-sound or not- but you can be sure I will post pictures if we do!
Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

The "Little Peanut" Moves!

Week 17 was eventful with doctor visit and feeling the baby move for the first time. It's amazing to know my body is able to nurture a little human being. Baby definitely likes a handful of Cheerios before bed time. I truly believe I could tell the baby was doing summersaults! All was well at doctor's appointment ~ So exciting to hear the heart beat again. Now that I'm 18 weeks along, there's no hiding the baby belly as you can see! Leif and I are starting to think of some baby names and are still committed to not finding out the sex of the baby.
