Home at last!

Before we left Anchorage to head home you can see I didn't like the PJ's mom put on me so I tried to undress myself. I decided I'll have to wait until I have more coordination with my arms and legs before I can redress myself!
Here's what I thought about traveling home. No matter what my momma did to try and keep my head up, I moved myself back to this position- I like it- I just wish it didn't look like my head is going to snap off so momma would just let me lay this way!

Finally, here's how I spent my first day home- snoozing away on poppa's chest. I'm so glad to be home and looking forward to having my Cordova family coming over to see me! I also can't wait for Grandma Julie and Grandpa Mike to come meet me- less than a month and they'll be here- hurray!!

I love being a momma!

Today, Leinna is two weeks old and as I reflect on the last two weeks all I can say is that I love being a momma! Leinna is such a sweet little girl- I'm sure all new momma's say that about their children. I'm enjoying Leinna's awake time and love watching her fall asleep. Leinna gets the hiccups often, which makes me smile because I get the hiccups all the time!! She makes me laugh so hard when she's making presents in her diaper- her facial expressions are just too precious. The picture below is one of those moments where she was loading her pants for momma!

Leinna was also introduced to her cousins, Henrik and Haaken, and Uncle Lars.

We have one more week of being on the road and then we'll finally be able to introduce Leinna to her real home. I'm still in search of a baby rain coat so that we can get into our walking routine in Cordova!

1 week of life!

Here I am- 1 week old! I celebrated my 1 week birthday by taking a drive to Fairbanks to visit my Grandma and Grandpa Jacobsen. My momma says I did wonderful in the car! Now the dogs on the other hand were difficult. You can see in this picture that Koda decided he needed to share my space with me! I didn't mind.

Not much else to report- I'm letting my momma sleep a good 2 1/2 to 3 hours at night- I know- how nice of me :>) I love my cuddle time with Poppa- he still hasn't changed my diaper, but he sure watches momma closely. Until next time, remember to eat, poop and sleep and life will be good!

The "Pack" Accepts Me!

Leinna says~ I'm accepted by the dog pack- hurray! You can see my momma's swollen feet and the top of my head- but notice how the dogs all lined up in front of me! This was about 10 minutes after being introduced to the pack. From left to right is Bailey, Koda and Beau. Beau is the wonderful dog who has let my parents stay with him for over a month waiting for me to be born and now healthy enough to travel. Beau's not too sure what to think of me because I'm stealing all the attention he use to get from my momma and poppa. Bailey- I'm not sure what she thinks of me yet- good thing she is poppa's dog because my momma stays busy trying to keep me fed! Koda- he's my favorite- he's always watching out for me and staying close. He gave me my first kiss today!!

Here's an updated picture of me- I'm not so yellow anymore! My jaundice level is going down and will find out Monday if I'm healthy enough to travel to Fairbanks to hang out with Grandma Cynde and Pops (Gary). Also, my Uncle Lars and cousins Henrik and Haaken are coming up. The blanket I'm laying on is a family blanket- my Grandma Julie (momma's mom) was brought home from the hospital in it, and then Grandma Julie used it to bring my momma home.

So far I think I'm being a pretty good baby! Can't wait to finally see what my real home looks like! Until next time, remember to eat, sleep and poop and life will be just fine :>)

Leinna Daisy Jacobsen

Hello World! My name is Leinna Daisy. I'm a bit yellow right now because I have jaundice, but I still think I'm pretty darn cute! I made my appearance into the world on July 6, 2010 at 6:36pm. I weighed 8 lbs 6 oz and I am 20.5 inches long. If you notice the blanket I'm laying on- that's the blanket my momma made while she was pregnant with me. It's so soft and I'm sure it'll be one of my favorites!

It's kinda hard to tell in this picture- but I'm giving you my "Pirate Eye!" I often open just one eye and check to see what's going on. My Poppa and Momma think it is pretty funny.

Well- that's about all to report for my short life so far. I hope to be over my jaundice soon so my momma can take all kinds of cute pictures of me!
